We present an efficient and effective solution that enables new datasets involving children to be generated quickly and without data loss, following an ethical, child-centred approach. The Mirror Box is designed for observational research in natural settings, such as schools. It is a wooden box containing two mirrors, specifically built to collect audiovisual data non-intrusively, without cameras or tripods, in early childhood education contexts.
