The chair aims to advance financial knowledge so that citizens are better equipped to make responsible financial decisions. Established through collaboration between UOC, Fundació Caixa Enginyers and the Institut d’Estudis Financers, it combines research, training and public outreach. 

It will study the population’s level of financial literacy, identify the most vulnerable groups and develop an index to track changes in financial health and well-being. Based on this analysis, it will design resources and learning pathways tailored to different groups, with particular attention to social and gender inequalities. It will also conduct pilot studies to evaluate the outcomes of training activities and share the most useful practices.
